NATIONAL airline Fiji Airways will continue to monitor the situation at Hong Kong where pro-democracy demonstrations broke out last month, calling on the Hong Kong government to step down.

The demonstrations have affected public transportation including international airline services.

A Fiji Airways spokesperson said the airline was closely monitoring the situation in Hong Kong and assessing its impact on the company’s schedule.

“At present, we plan to operate our Nadi-Hong Kong and Hong Kong-Nadi services as per schedule,” the spokesperson said.

“Should this change, we will reach out and advise guests accordingly through the contact details registered in their booking.”

The airline has requested guests flying to Hong Kong to report to the airport early.

“Fiji Airways advises guests on our Nadi-Hong Kong and Hong Kong-Nadi flights to check in early to avoid any delays. Our online check-in is open 24 hours prior to departure, while check-in desks at Hong Kong open from 12.30pm.

“Guests are advised to pass through Immigration Control at their earliest convenience.”
