Natabua and Jasper retain titles

THIS year’s 2020 Coca-Cola Lautoka / Yasawa Athletics Zone competition never failed to amaze with Jasper Williams winning in the girls’ division and Natabua High School wining the boys division.

Churchill Park was sea of different school colours and cheerleaders adding a touch of class to the event.

Natabua High School sprint king Nemani Mudreilagi won the blue ribbon event with the time of 10.86s while Adi Vika Bavui of Jasper Williams High School grabbing gold clocking 13.36s.

Natabua High School principal Virendra Sharma said he believed in his coaches and athletes. “We should be able to do much better than the previous years and hopefully we will be able to satisfy our fans, former scholars and parents,” said Mr Sharma.

“Jasper Williams High School is coming, beware.” Natabua High School won the boy’s division with a total of 32 gold medals, 17 silver medals and eight bronze medals.

Tilak High School came second with five gold, eight silver medals and four bronze medals while St. Thomas High School was third with three gold medals, eight silver medals and 10 bronze medals.

Jasper Williams High School won 33 gold medals, 10 silver medals and nine bronze medals.

Natabua High School came second with eight gold, 10 silver medals and six bronze medals while St. Thomas High School wrapped up the top three, with four gold medals, 10 silver medals and seven bronze medals.
