Fiji National Rugby League acting chief executive officer Don Natabe is positive of a return to domestic rugby league competition in the near future.

With the clearance of all COVID-19 persons in Fiji and the return to play protocols in place, resumptions of competitions are just around the corner.

“Since Friday May 29, the Fiji Sports Commission and Ministry of Youth have introduced an accreditation system to vet our Play Protocol,” Natabe said.

“The accreditation system is good news for all national sporting federations and we look forward to having our Play Protocol be given the green light to return to a COVID-19 Safe Vodafone Cup,”

Meanwhile Natabe said the Ravoravo Rabbitohs remained the defending champion going into the 2020 Vodafone Cup and the new champion would be determined as usual on the performance of each club.

“The defending Vodafone Cup champion remains undisputed and it would be most appropriate to declare the same when the competition resumes.”
