FIJI Airways Fiji 7s captain Kalione Nasoko has called on the fans to have faith in the team after their semi-final loss to New Zealand at the recent HSBC World Rugby Sydney 7s tournament.

The off-load master who led the Fiji 7s team to two tournament wins this season (Cape Town and Hamilton) said the support of the fans played a vital role in the team’s campaign.

He said some harsh words had been said about the players and begged the fans to continue supporting the side.

Nasoko made these comments after being hosted to a team party by the Ba Provincial officials in Lautoka — thanking him and his teammates for their achievements. He also thanked the loyal fans for their continued support despite the Sydney 7s loss.

“On behalf of the team I thank you for having faith in the team and your support means a lot to our campaign,” Nasoko said.

“We may have fell short in Sydney and we seek your forgiveness with hope you will continue to support and pray for the team.”

The national side will face Scotland, Wales and Australia at the USA 7S in Las Vegas on March 2.
