“BUILDING a formidable team to play in the Premier division is not easy and false rumors do not help.”
These were the words of Nasinu Football president O’Neil Chand after posts on social media claiming that there were misunderstandings in the team’s camp.
Chand has made it clear that there was nothing as such and officials were working “really hard” to field a competitive team at the Courts Inter District Championship next month.
“We have no confusions whatsoever. For those people who do not believe this please come and see our training sessions at the grounds. Our coach Shivam Nathan is working closely with the players and there are no confusion amongst anyone,” Chand told FT Online.
Posts on Facebook claimed that senior players in the squad were not happy as a lot of new signing were done.
Chand has however revealed that they would be spending close to $12,000 to re-build their squad for IDC.
This includes transfer fee payable to FFA of $131.75 for every application, $150 paid to district, $50 paid to club the player plays for.
If the player is contracted, then they have to clear the that amount as well which is sometimes up to $5000.
Chand said they had been spending a lot of money and this type of “criticism” was uncalled for.
The Courts IDC will be played from the 5th to the 10th of next month at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
