Nasinu eyes top spot

NASINU football coach Nathan Shivam has mapped out plans in a bid to help the association achieve great things.

The winner of the Vodafone Senior Division will gain automatic promotion to the Premier Division.

Shivam said the management of Nasinu football had fully backed him and one of his key areas of focus was development.

“Coming in and coaching Nasinu, this year we have a new set of management. I have made a point to the management for a four-year plan. We will not be in a rush and make hasty decisions in trying to make it to the premier division but want to focus on development and getting more youth players,” he said.

“We have some players in our radar who will be included in our next 18-member squad. So the management is quite supportive that we want to focus more on development and bring in new players,” he said.

Nasinu will face Tailevu Naitasiri tomorrow at 7.30pm at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. Both sides are coming off wins in their first matches.

Two other senior division matches will be played this Sunday. Nadroga hosts Navua 3pm at Lawaqa Park while Northland who badly lost to Lami last weekend will face Rakiraki at the Fiji FA Academy ground also at 3pm.
