Update: 6:38PM A FIJIAN family who now resides in the United States of America have joined in the assistance in trying to rebuild the lives of families affected by the recent natural disasters in Fiji.
Satya and Sajal Narayan of Amherst, Virginia, handed over cyclone relief supplies worth US$25,000 to Fiji’s Ambassador to the U.S Solo Mara as their contribution towards Fijian families adversely affected by the two recent Tropical Cyclones Josie and Keni.
Originally from Nasarowaqa in Bua on Vanua Levu, the Fiji-born father and son said they read about the devastations and floods caused by the two tropical cyclones and thought of mobilising resources to help fellow Fijians in great need.
Mr Mara thanked the Narayan family for their kind gesture because this would put smiles on the faces of the families and communities affected by the two cyclones.
He also expressed Fiji’s gratitude to the Narayan family for making Fiji known in this remote part of Virginia through their business connections.
