Napuka Secondary U19 Women’s Rugby champs

NAPUKA Secondary School has been crowned the champion of the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Under-19 Women’s Rugby Sevens Competition.
The Savusavu-based side defeated Sacred Heart College 20-19 in the final at Suva’s ANZ Stadium today.
Down 12-5 at the break and playing in front of thousands of spectators, the girls from north played a game to remember for the rest of their lifes and scored two more tries in the second half to seal the win.
In the semis, Napuka defeated Jasper Williams High School 10-7 while SHC accounted for Ballentine Memorial School 17-15.
Earlier in the quarter-finals, BMS beat Saqani 17-7, SHC defeated Ovalau 19-5, Napuka thumped RSMS 22-0 while Jasper eased past Nuku 24-7.
