Namosi rotates fifteens players

NAMOSI Rugby Union is still on rotation mode for its players before their major games against Naitasiri and Nadroga in the Skipper Cup competition.

This weekend they face Vatukoula and coach Max Hughes said he would continue to rotate the players to see which player would fit in well in a position before their games against the two major trump ards of provincial rugby in the country.

“We’re doing well but we will need to improve from our game last week because the boys seemed to have lapsed concentration in the second half,” Hughes said.

“We’ll work on playing the full 80 minutes of rugby because we have to be ready for Naitasiri and Nadroga in the fifth and sixth round of the competition, so I’m moving the boys around using the whole squad.”

The former Nadroga rugby trainer who has also spent time with the national side and the champion Wardens 7s team said their aim was to at least be in the top four to be safe from relegation towards the end of the competition.

“We have a good set of players and we have brought in some from the interior of Namosi, so we’re trying to use them all because the support will surely come with these players,” Hughes said.

Hughes has also named three players to be co-captains in his team in Iokobo Bose, Ilai Tinai and Petero Suinika.
