Viti Water Flow-sponsored Lautoka football team striker Sairusi Nalaubu has won his second golden boot award and the Digicel Premier League title this season.
Nalaubu, who won his first league title with his former team Suva last year, scored nine goals and received the golden boot award.
After 14 rounds of the Digicel Premier League, Nalaubu scored 9 goals for the Blues like he did for the Suva side last season.
Nalaubu said it was his aim to win the title again this season.
“I had set a goal this year and that was to win the league again and the golden boot award,” he said.
“I have already tasted the happiness and joy of winning the national league and receiving the golden boot award.
“It was a tough season but I am happy to achieve my goals. The credit goes to the entire team and the officials for their support and team bonding.”
Nalaubu thanked God for His guidance and strength.
“I thank the Almighty God for giving me blessing and strength to take the advantage and score goals and also to the Lautoka FC officials for having faith in me.”
The policeman also added that juggling between work and training was another level of challenge.
“I have to manage my time wisely because I’m not only a soccer player, I’m a policeman and a husband.
“Sometimes it’s challenging because I tend to spend 12 hours at work and I need rest also.
“It’s not easy. I have to plan accordingly and have equal time for everything.
“As a striker, I always have to have the finishing. Some days we have the right finishing while some days we don’t. I’m just focused on my fitness and my finishing role.”
