MINISTER for Forestry Osea Naiqamu met with villagers in Nagado in Nadi today to discuss forest conservation and protection.

The consultation is part of Mr Naiqamu’s six village stopover in villages in the Ba and Nadroga province.

He is expected to also visit villagers in Vagadra, Dratabu, Vatutu, Yavuna and Mulomulo.

“Our main aim now is to head out to grassroot communities and educate them on the importance of the 4Million Trees in 4Years Initiative,” he said.

“I urge the communities – landowning units, women’s groups, youth groups, schools, business houses and other stakeholders to support this initiative as we are leaving something behind for our children and the generation yet to come.”
