CAPTAIN Aron Naicker said it was an honour to be leading the Digicel Baby Bula Boys side into one of the toughest games they are about to play.

Fiji takes on New Zealand at 7pm tonight in the OFC Under-17 Championships, with the winner advancing to the FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru later this year.

“I’m just very humbled by the opportunity to lead the boys and we will do everything we can to make our country proud,” the 16-year-old said.

The Swami Veivekanada College student said qualifying for a World Cup would mean everything to the team.

“We know it will not be easy but when we put that white jersey on, we will make sure we do all we can to achieve our goal.”

Naiker thanked their coaches, the Fiji Football Association, supporters and family members for all the support and guidance given to them during this OFC tournament.

“A big thanks to our coaches, for moulding us in the past few weeks in order to compete well.

And also to our parents and our supporters who continue to show love and support throughout all our games, vinaka.”
