Nadroga wary of Namosi

BLK Nadroga is wary of another HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge when it puts the trophy on the line for the sixth week against Namosi on Saturday.

The Stallions have defended the coveted trophy against Naitasiri, Northland, Suva, Naitasiri Northern Bulls and Tailevu during the past five weeks. And head coach Esala Nauga says he will continue his player rotation policy to meet the standard of the challenge as players can be worn out playing intense rugby week in, week out.

“We got 60 players in the squad and we need to keep on rotating the players so we maintain that standard,” Nauga said.

“We cannot let one player play in all seven defence because the competition gets tougher and tougher each week.”

After last Saturday’s 57-0 demolition of Tailevu, Nauga had already focused on the next task against the improving Namosi side.

He said in all challenge games, it was always a difficult task to defend the title.

“We know this is going to be another tough challenge. And like every other team, we will go back and prepare like the previous weeks. We’ll take each game at a time.”

Namosi, under the guidance of former national sevens rep Timoci Wainiqolo, has been a revelation this season.

Nauga said Namosi would be tough.
