The Nadroga rugby 10s tournament that is scheduled to kick-off this Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka has been postponed.

Nadroga rugby union president Tiko Matawalu confirmed this saying discussions with the Fiji Rugby Union has led to the postponement of the tournament.

“We’ve discussed with the FRU and it’s all for the safety and well-being of the players,” Matawalu said.

“The Return to Play Protocol states a four week preparation time frame for players to mentally and physically gear themselves up before we start off with the competition.

“Tournament was scheduled to be held this Saturday 18th July 2020 will be postponed to a later date due to the pending approval for COVID-19 Sports Facilities Usage Protocols for our Lawaqa Park-Sigatoka,” he said.

“Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.”

Meanwhile, Matawalu will confirm the next scheduled date for the tournament to start.
