Nadro sets focus

THE nine-time Skipper Cup champion, BLK Nadroga Stallions has shifted its focus on defending the HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy challenge this weekend.

After a successful Skipper Cup campaign this season, the undisputed champion of Fijian rugby will be out in full force to defend the most coveted rugby trophy in Fiji.

Though the Stallions will miss two key players in hardworking No.8 Eremasi Radrodro and centre Joeli Lutumailagi who have secured overseas contracts , the Stallions had proven it has capable players to fill the vacuum.

Warhorse Setefano Samoca said the team would give its best in all the upcoming Farebrother games.

“Firstly, we thank Masi (Radrodro) and Joeli for their effort in helping the team to successfully defend the Skipper Cup but I believe we have the players who can take over from them.

“Joining the duo is our under-20 centre Alivereti Nauga, but as for the Farebrother we will reset our focus on Monday and will give our best.”

Meanwhile, only four teams will challenge BLK Nadroga for the prestigious Farebrother Sullivan trophy this year.

The three teams confirmed are Naitasiri, Suva and Namosi while the fourth team will be determined from the winner for the Ratu Josaia V Bainimarama Shield.

The shield will be contested by Navosa, Rewa, Lautoka and Ovalau.
