Retaining possession is one area that the Nadi team has been working on ahead of its second Skipper Cup clash against Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori this Saturday.

Nadi defeated newcomers Yasawa 17-7 in the opening round at Churchill Park in Lautoka last week.

The Jetsetters had their fair share of possession however the high turnover rate was a drawback.

This allowed Yasawa stage counter attack and gain valuable territory. Nadi team manager Jeff Tamata said a lot of improvement was needed.

He said they expected a tough battle against Naitasiri who are known for taking up a physical approach.

“Winning possession is one of the key areas that we really need to improve on,” Tamata said.

“It was an eyesore to see so many turnovers of possession against Yasawa.”

In other matches this Saturday, Lautoka will host Tailevu at Churchill Park while Suva will play Yasawa at the ANZ Stadium.

The Skipper Cup/Farebrother Sullivan trophy double header match between Nadroga and Namosi will be held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
