NADI Football Association (Nadi FA) president Javed Ahmed will not be contesting for the presidency post in the Nadi FA Annual General Meeting next month.

Ahmed made this declaration to the Nadi FA Board as his terms come to an end next month.

“My terms with Nadi Football will come to an end next month and I have already declared it to the board that I will not be contesting in the next elections,” Ahmed said.

“Within my seven years with Nadi football, we managed to bring many victories which includes Fiji FACT, Champion vs Champion series and Pacific Cup and the highlight under my presidency is the first ever tournament win for Nadi at Lautoka’s Churchill Park winning the Fiji FACT last year.

“And now I have decided to call it a day come elections next month.”

Ahmed added the board has approved Kamal Swamy as the coach for 2020 after he negotiated with the former mentor to come back and guide the Green Machine once again.

Association secretary/vice president Mohammed Mohin Rafiq said Ahmed would remain as the chief advisor and a board member of Nadi FA.

He said senior vice president Ashwant Singh is highly likely to contest for the president’s post unopposed in the Annual General Meeting on February 26.
