Stylish midfielder Rahul Krishna and national midfielder Ame Votoniu scored a goal each to clinch the match and thus were crowned champions.

FC Gandhi Lionz amassed 25 points to edge second placed Ranjesh Kingss FC by a single point. Meanwhile in the feature match Ranjesh Kings FC edged Namaka Blues FC in a close and exciting encounter with a Vereti Dickson header winning by a solitary goal.

The side has district reps such as Joshua Tawake, Semi Rokodiva, Waisake Tabucavu, Josevata Malakai, Ronal Jeet Singh and young Shivneel Pillay.

‘We had to make a technical change by playing Vereti in the striker’s position and it paid off’ said a happy coach Roneel Ram.

Ranjesh Kings FC will be making their debut at the NCC zonal play-offs.

The Nadi Football Association’s president Javed Ahmed was delighted at the competitive nature of the local club competition and added that the competition was one of the toughest as four clubs were in the running to become champions with the top two being nominated for the annual club championships.

“The local club competition has finished on time and the focus now turns to the Pacific Cup which kicks off from Wednesday in Auckland, New Zealand,” said Javed.

While congratulating both the football clubs for their fighting spirit he also wished former champions AAAK Blues FC and Nalovo FC all the very best for next year as they both were also in contention.

Dayals Yalalevu Club Football and Young Brothers Football will be Ba’s representatives at the Western zonal play-offs.

The Vodafone National Club Championships Western zone play-offs will be staged at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Ba from December 6-8 and the final playoffs a week later at a venue yet to be decided.
