THE Fiji Bitter Nabukelevu-i-ra sevens tournament kicked off to a good start with teams from around Kadavu and Vitilevu participating at the Nabukelevu-i-ra grounds in Kadavu.
Tournament organizer Iliesa Bacita said the tournament had a successful start from the first day with fans travelling down from other parts of Kadavu.
“We had a good turnout in yesterday and today’s tournament, the weather and the crowd was amazing,” said Bacita.
“Everyone came out in numbers because the Fiji Airways sevens team are also here for the tournament, so everyone is excited to come and meet the national sevens team. Tomorrow we are anticipating a much bigger crowd since it will be the final rounds of the games.”
Bacita thanked the organizers and the sponsors working around the clock in organizing the tournament logistics.
“The organisation of the tournament was very professional in terms of the logistics and everything that was done, we made sure we set the standards high for a local tournament that is away from the main land, such as this,” said Bacita.
“Most of the teams from the main land are arriving in today (yesterday) and also fans from Suva and other parts of Vitilevu. Tomorrow the tournament will be bigger and better,” he said.
