THE MV Liahona II is undergoing temporary repair works at Kavala Bay in Kadavu.

It has been confirmed at this stage that a temporary ramp will be fitted to the vessel.

Brighton Holdings (Fiji) Limited director Ulaisi Baivatu said the crew is working on the vessel.

“We are carrying out repair works on the vessel and once the weather normalises, then it will be escorted back to Suva,” Mr Baivatu said.

“There are 18 crew members on board the vessel and we will be not taking any passengers back to Suva.”

The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is expected to release a statement on the issue in the next hour.
