A man alleged to have murdered his younger brother in Dreketi settlement, Rakiraki, this week has had his case transferred to the High Court in Lautoka.

Samisoni Vurumatana, 36, is alleged to have fatally struck his 28-year-old brother, Samukari Nalawakula, with a knife.

He appeared at the Rakiraki Magistrates Court yesterday on a count of murder.

Magistrate Lisiate Fotofili ordered that Mr Vurumatana be remanded in custody.

The case will be called again on February 23.
