It was a great experience for nine athletes of Xavier College who took part at the Namosi Marathon yesterday.
The team, preparing for the Coca-Cola Games next month, had the opportunity to test their skills on the higlands of Namosi. Team coach Krishneel Singh said it was always great to run on the hills.
“For some it’s the first time while some came here in 2020 as well. For some of them they have not seen the hills before and just to be here is a great experience for them,” Singh said.
Xavier College will have 70 athletes participate at the Cokes this year. Singh added their aim is to win at least five gold medals.
“We always go into any event with an aim and the aim this year is to win at least five gold medals. We know we have the athletes to do it.”
The nine athletes consisted of seven boys and two girls who took part in the Namosi Marathon yesterday.
