SODELPA parliamentarian and lawyer Niko Nawaikula appeared before  the Independent Legal Services Commission (ILSC) on charges of professional misconduct by the Legal Practitioners Unit (LPU).

Mr Nawaikula  appeared before ILSC commissioner Justice Daniel Goundar today.

LPU lawyer Tui Kilakila told the court that they had finalised and served the proposed agreed facts to Mr Nawaikula.

The court was also informed that in his defence, Mr Nawaikula would call two witnesses during the hearing.

It is alleged that Mr Nawaikula did not obtain the necessary approval from the members of a mataqali namely Nabukebuke in Namosi in order to facilitate the formation of the trust deed dated May 6, 2009.

The hearing will begin on March 15, 2021, for two days.
