A LAUTOKA mother who was preparing to celebrate her daughter’s 12th birthday was found slain inside a house in Drasa yesterday.

The body of Sabrina Nisha, 32, was discovered at her former husband’s home.

Maureen Nisha, the deceased’s elder sister, said it was hard to believe that Sabrina was no more.

When this newspaper visited the scene yesterday, police forensic officers were combing the area for clues. Another team of about eight police officers also arrived at the scene to assist in the investigations.

“We had so much plans together for today (yesterday) and she was looking forward to her daughter’s birthday and both of her children’s graduation,” Ms Nisha said.

“She had been staying with us for a couple of months now and it was just yesterday (Tuesday) that Sabrina told me she had to go to her husband’s place to pick up her kids uniforms for their prize-giving ceremony.

“It happened all of a sudden and we are still shocked by what happened to her.”

Sabrina Nisha is survived by her two children Ghazala Zain Nisha, 12, and son Mohammed Zahid Dean, 10.

Police confirmed that the discovery was made around 11am yesterday and investigations into the death were continuing.
