Moce sets plan

MOCE cricket players are aiming for a spot in the national team for the International Cricket Council East Asia Pacific Sub Regional World T20 Qualifier in August.

Captain Viliame Taufa said while the players are focused on defending their title at the Easter Cricket Championship, they are also showcasing their talent to be selected in the national team.

“For Fiji to host an international tournament is a great platform for us cricket players to expose our talent and also is a learning curve for us to expand our knowledge in international cricket,” he said

“Players like Tagilala Rakuita, Inoke Buadromo and Taito Vakabula have the potential to represent Fiji.”

Taufa said in their preparation towards the Easter competition they fielded a development team.

“We have a development squad which consists of young players who want to develop their cricket skill and our team one we have the cream of our players.

“Our team one is undefeated at the moment winning their game against Vanuabalavu and Komo.

Moce will play Ono-i-Lau in one of the cup quarter-finals today.

Despite the financial difficulties Moce faced they still managed to field two teams in the competition.

Taufa says they are positive to retain their title.
