MOBIL Oil (Fiji) has signed on to be the exclusive fuel supplier for Uprising Sports Centre in Suva.

Lead country manager Adi Tamara said the formation of this new relationship with Uprising Sports Centre was to nurture grassroots talent across all sports.

“We are really very keen to make sure that where we work with Uprising Sports Centre we are invested from a financial perspective but also from a participation perspective,” Mr Tamara said.

“So we are looking at making sure that we are able to enable or activate local programs working with communities or that is benefiting the community and being more proactively involved in those activities in the future.”

According to the managing director for Uprising Fiji, Rene Munch, the total project with the Uprising Sports Centre was about $2.7million.

He said this was mainly because Pacific Harbour was a very rainy area and it took a lot of time to prepare the subsurface and engineering.
