“This prepares the girls to face the outside world for an independent living.

“There is ongoing counseling sessions undertaken for the traumatic experience they have gone through.

“The ministry is closely monitoring the care plans for all the children at the Home to see that all do comply with the national care standards,” Ms Poole said.

She has also urged members of the public to break the silence of child abuse and violence against women and girls to end the vicious cycle of crimes against children of Fiji.

She encouraged the Fijians to utilize Child Helpline number 1325 and Domestic Violence Helpline number 1560, a toll free number that are manned by professional counselors and are ready to listen to their problems and guide them towards getting the help they need and deserve.
