THE World Mosquito Program office in Fiji has today handed over its monitoring tools to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

The WMP Fiji office will close tomorrow but the ministry will continue its work with the monitoring of Wolbachia mosquitoes.

This was highlighted by the Ministry’s Chief Health Inspector Dip Chand during a press conference held in Tamavua today.

He said the local community had been great partners for this project.

“They have hosted mosquito monitoring traps, they have grown and released the mosquitoes,” Mr Chand said.
