Ministry to improve service and sports

The Ministry of Youth and Sport unveiled a new logo on Friday at the home of former national 7s captain, Paula Dranisinukula at Navuniivi Village in Ra with Minister Parveen Kumar saying it was an historic event.

“Until such time the ministry will be there and we won’t be there, but those who will be around will know this logo was unveiled at this village,” Kumar said.

He said the ministry could have launched the logo in Suva.

“We thought fit that we need to reach out to our Fijians.”

The crest on the new logo represents the ocean, the blue colour depicts patriotism, the orange halo represents the sun and its warmth and the Fijian canoe depicts traditional sports.

“The ministry has come a long way in terms of empowering our youths and the development of sports in Fiji. We have plans to improve out service so that we can increase our reach to our youths in the country.”

Dranisinukula joined Kumar at the logo unveiling ceremony.
