Screening and isolation zones have been set up in four settlements within the Nadi containment area.

The Health Ministry stated a request had also been issued to residents in Korociri, Nawajikuma, Nawaka Tramline, and Qina settlement to stay home and to avoid any close contact with people from other households.

“This exercise is an opportunity to check for COVID-like symptoms and travel/movement histories that may have put fellow residents in the path of Fijians living with COVID,” the statement read.

“It is a necessary step and one of the ways to stop this infection from spreading.”

The ministry also stated that mobile screening teams will be conducting COVID-19 screening and swabbing over the next few days in the areas mentioned.
