A total of 1069 businesses across Viti Levu and Vanua Levu have been monitored in regards to complying with COVID safe protocols.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, preliminary findings revealed about 887, or 83 per cent of the businesses have been complying with the COVID safe protocols, while others needed assistance and reminders on the implementation of the protocols.

“At present, the ministry is working together with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Fiji Competition and Commerce Commission (FCCC) and Fiji Police Force, to jointly undertake monitoring and evaluation of business compliance to the COVID safe protocols for business operations,” stated MCTTT.

“The ministry in conjunction with FCCC has established ‘COVID Safe Ambassador’.

“These ambassadors will take on the role of monitoring and assisting businesses to implement and apply.

“It is critically important that business operators adhere and implement COVID safe business protocols for the safety of their employees and customers.”
