Minister’s visit brings relief to fire victims

Update: 2:46PM A team from the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation has reached out to Suva families who lost their homes in a horrific fire incident last week.
A statement released by the ministry says the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar and Permanent Secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta visited the families of Howell Road on
Tuesday and embarked on immediate measures to assist them.
During the morning visit, the families said they were in
dire need of clothes and food supply. She revisited them in the afternoon with tents, mattresses, pillows, blankets,
clothes, cooking stove and utencils.
The ministry has also liaised with Nadi
Rotary Club and RC Manubhai to organise similar assistance for the affected families.
