The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services, Jone Usamate and Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete recently visited parts of Bemana District in Navosa.

They made site inspections of roads and water resources in need of improvement along this portion of Sigatoka River’s East Bank, as well as to address health issues.

Mr Usamate’s ministry plans to repair damaged water sources, and roads in the area to also severely cut the travel time of Bemana students, who have been noted to walk up to 15 kilometers each day to attend school.

Dr Waqainabete however noted that the district’s Tuvu Nursing Station would be relocated to higher ground to also cater for an expansion.

The Health Ministry is looking into the resumption of the old Yalavou Nursing Station.

Villagers of Tonuve and Vulinagerua in Bemana took the opportunity to raise various topics with both ministers.
