Former Fiji Athletics runner and Zumba queen Litiana Miller finished an inaugural 30-day fitness challenge via SMS with participants reaping immense benefits.

The challenge ended on August 30. The program aimed at helping the Fijian public to move to a healthier and fitter lifestyle, adopted a culture of regular exercises as a way of being fit and keeping away NCDs.

“The challenge was unique as this was a first for Fiji, where Vodafone’s flexible SMS texting platform was used to send daily workout routines to subscribers for a cost of $0.18 a day,” a statement reads.

“No gym equipment was required and participants could exercise from the comfort of their homes or parks fitting in with COVID19 protocols easily.”

It said because of the increased interest, people could expect another fitness challenge soon.

Miller said the new challenge is Move 4 Fiji planned to encourage all Fijians to celebrate Fiji’s 50th birthday by being fitter and healthier, producing more and helping Fiji move forward.

The Move 4 Fiji Challenge will be launched on Miller’s fitness subscription channel and Vodafone customers can subscribe by texting “Sub Zumba” to 777.
