Medivac Tragedy: Search ends, pilot and child remain missing

THE search for the missing Robinson R44 II Raven helicopter ends today.

Divisional Police Commander North senior superintendent Eparama Waqa confirmed the search will end this evening after exhausting all avenues.

The family members he said have been informed about their decisions.

The helicopter went down into the Natewa Bay on August 2 as it headed towards Labasa Hospital from Naitauba Island.

On board were Australian pilot Gilbert Parker, the 2-year-old patient Epeli Jeremiah and his mum Taraivosa Kacilala whose body was recovered on August 3.

The pilot and patient remain missing.
