THE Mata Dance Group has been invited to take part in this year’s Hip Hop International South Pacific Islands Competition in Auckland in New Zealand.
Some members of the 20-member group were present today at the ROC Market in a bid to fund raise for their trip.
Group choreographer Tevita Tobeyaweni said this was the first time the group would be performing in NZ.
“Our group consists of dancers from around Fiji aged between 13 to 25 years of age,” Tobeyaweni said.
“Fiji was invited to take part in this competition. It is the first time we are going to perform there.”
