Olympic Games gold medallist Iosefo Masi burst onto the Super Rugby Pacific scene this season and has been a revelation for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.

Masi shares nine clean break record alongside Shaun Stevenson and midfield Alex Nankivell both of Chiefs on the stats tally while Mark Telea of the Blues and Max Jorgensen of the Waratahs are on six.

Last week against the Reds, Masi scored one try, made 88m in his carries and sick tackles made.

Head coach Mick Byrne has named Masi on the wing in today’s match against the Highlanders.

In a stunning 25-24 win against the Super Rugby champions Crusaders a fortnight ago, Masi also registered his name on the score sheet.

He scored two tries in his debut game against the Moana Pasifika.
