Olympic Games gold medallist Iosefo Masikau gets his shot to prove his worth in his adopted sports after North Queensland Toyota Cowboys head coach Todd Payten named a 22-man squad to face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Saturday’s trial match at Barlow Park.

The Fijian rugby 7s sensation is set to make his Cowboys debut and will start on the wing, NRL.com reported.

Masikau joined the Cowboys in the preseason after claiming an Olympics gold medal in Tokyo last year.

Masikau, the report said, would line up on the wing alongside Laitia Moceidreke, who is also of Fijian heritage.
