Swire Shipping Fijian Drua outside centre Iosefo Masi created history last weekend by being the first Drua player to score three-tries in a single match against Moana Pasifika in Churchill Park, Lautoka.

Assistant coach Brad Harris said the 25-year old had been fantastic for them in this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

“He has been fantastic for us so far,” said Harris.

“We hoped to have him a year earlier but he chose to go to rugby league but we kept close tabs on him. We were delighted when he came back this year and I know the qualities he brings as a person and a player is super, super exciting.

“He’s a great kid and he works hard, he’s a threat in both attack and defence and I hope he can play well this weekend just as he did last week in Lautoka.”

The Drua take on the Reds tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and Harris said the players were looking forward to playing in front of the families and friends.

“Majority of the players are from Suva so they’re looking forward to playing in front of family and friends,” he added.

“We will travel down to Suva on Friday (today) morning and have a light captain’s run, sleep, and regenerate and get ready to go.”

The Drua and Reds match kicks-off at 4.35pm tomorrow.
