Market revised opening hours to assist vendors sell their produce

THE revised market hours is to allow market vendors more hours to promote and sell local produce to people.

Chairman of the Suva City Council Isikeli Tikoduadua said this at a press conference today for the revised market opening hours which comes to effective from Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

The revised hours shall be from 7am to 7pm, Mondays to Thursdays and 6am to 8pm, Fridays to Saturdays.

“We expect that the revised hours shall have a reticulation effect on Suva’s economy,” Mr Tikoduadua said.

Police confirmed foot patrol presence within the city to promote a usual safe environment.

“More CCTV cameras have been placed and all CCTV cameras in public areas shall be connected to the Totogo Police Station.”

Also present at the conference was the new Police Commanding Officer Central Division Meli Sateki and the Chairman of the Suva Retailers Association Vinay Kumar.
