THE Rakiraki Town Council has finalised a deal with Government that will allow for the refurbishment of the municipal market.
Interim special administrator Ralulu Cirikiyasawa said the project was one that was in the pipeline for a while.
“We have been noticing that the ceiling of the market has been leaking and so the $33,000 assistance by Government will aid in improving the ceiling,” he said.
“While we have a total of 200 market vendors selling produce both inside and outside of the market, they were facing a lot of difficulties with the leaking roof, especially during heavy rain.”
