A SIXTY-YEAR-OLD man is pleading for help to rebuild his home which was destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Ana in January.

Moon Raj Sharma of Sakoca, in the outskirts of Suva, lives alone in a shed from the damaged pieces of roofing iron he managed to salvage.

An emotional Mr Sharma said his house and its contents were destroyed by the storm.

“I don’t have anything but managed to build a shed so I have a place to sleep and rest,” he said.

“I was alone at home when Suva was feeling the effects of TC Ana.

“When the roof started to blow, I had to run out from the house because the walls were falling as well.

“I ran to the neighbour’s house for shelter.”

Mr Sharma said he had received some food rations from the Government but was looking forward to having his house rebuilt.

“They have given me 8kg rice, 4kg flour, one bottle oil and tinned fish.

“I got no other assistance from anywhere but I really need help in the rebuilding of my home.”
