Man on murder charge slapped with additional count

A MAN charged with the murder of a New Zealand national earlier this year has been slapped with an additional charge of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Rusiate Sogotubu Raiwalui, 32, appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

He is accused of the murder of Ashkan Rikthegazader who was found dead with multiple stab wounds outside the CWM hospital in Suva on May 8.

Mr Raiwalui pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The accused was further remanded and the case has been adjourned to February 14, 2020.
