A MAN charged with one count of murder has been further remanded by the High Court in Suva.
Fabiano Dakai appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar today.
He is charged with one count of murder of a 34-year-old security guard of Waidradra, outside Navua, on February 4, 2019.
The accused was not able to take his plea today after a psychiatric assessment report by the St. Giles Hospital concluded that the accused was not fit to plead.
The State had earlier requested a psychiatric assessment of the accused.
The court heard that the report had concluded that Mr Dakai was mentally unwell and displayed mental symptoms.
State lawyer Sadaf Shameem said the State was waiting for the report so that they could file information.
The case has been adjourned to June 10 for hearing to decide fitness to stand trial.
