A 38-YEAR-old man charged with one count of aggravated sexual servitude and three counts of domestic trafficking in children has been further remanded by the High Court in Suva.

Josevata Werelagi appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

It is alleged that Mr Werelagi, between July 18, 2015, and July 22, 2015, in Suva, by use of threats or force, caused a 15-year-old girl to enter into or remain in sexual servitude.

Mr Werelagi had pleaded not guilty to all the charges earlier.

Defence lawyer Talei Kean informed the court that Mr Werelagi would maintain his not guilty plea and the defence would have to re-look at the evidence and speak to the accused on this.

Ms Kean sought 14 days to clarify the accused’s stance on his plea and informed the court if they changed their plea, they would notify the State so that the summary of facts would be ready.

The case has been adjourned to May 23.
