Man in hospital after early morning fire

A FIRE in Naibuluvatu Settlement, Nasinu early this morning landed a 32-year-old man at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva.

According to a witness, Kinisalote Comosi, the victim was alone in the two bedroom house when the fire started.

She said the victim was lucky to have escaped the fire as he was asleep.

“He told us that he had pre-heated his food and might have fell off to sleep.,” Ms Comosi told Fiji Times Online.

Ms Comosi said it was around 3 am today when the house was engulfed by fire.

Chief-fire-officer Qionilau Moceitai confirmed the incident.

He said investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire continued.
