A MAN charged with the rape of his cousin has been further remanded by High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.
The 20-year-old man is charged with a count each of rape and theft.
The man pleaded not guilty to the rape charge and pleaded guilty to the theft charge.
It is alleged that he raped his 16-year-old cousin sister and stole her phone on May 25, 2018 in Nasinu.
State lawyer Tamani Kaiyaroi informed the court that the accused’s defence is that alleged act was consensual. The case has been adjourned to January 28.
