A man in his 50s is dead following a tragic trucking accident at Nabukelevu in Serua yesterday afternoon.
Police said the man from Tomuka in Lautoka was travelling with four others in a truck loaded with logs when they experienced difficulties due to slippery road conditions.
Police said the deceased man and the four other occupants jumped onto the back of the truck.
“As the truck started to roll back, the victim jumped from the back of the tray when he allegedly hit his head on a log,” Police said.
“He was rushed to the Korovisilou Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
Police investigations are continuing.
