A 22-YEAR-OLD was sentenced to 19 months and three weeks by the High Court in Suva today.
Victal Vikash Prasad who appeared before Justice Vinsent Perera wass convicted of one count each of burglary and theft.
On December 26, 2017 Prasad unlawfully entered a home and stole one laptop, assorted jewelries and $600 cash.
Justice Perera said the aggravating factor in the case was the fact that the accused and the complainant knew each other so there was a breach of trust.
Prasad has also been given a non-parole period of 13 months three weeks and has been given 30 days to appeal to the Fiji Court of Appeal.
