A MAN who claimed his retirement pension was withdrawn without his knowledge is disappointed that the Fiji National Provident Fund has not provided him with an explanation.

Guruwaiya Achari claims $14,000 was withdrawn from his FNPF account in the year 2000 and he only found out when he visited the FNPF branch in the West two years ago to check if his savings were intact.

“I have been running around from 2017 and today I still don’t know if they (FNPF) are going to do anything about it,” Mr Achari said.

“I have been to Suva and I have revisited FNPF branches in the West, however, no one has given me an explanation of what had happened to my money.”

In response to queries sent two weeks ago, the FNPF said it had communicated its decision to Mr Archari and could not comment further.

Mr Achari claimed he received a phone call last Friday and the caller said he could take legal action if he wished to.

“Now that The Fiji Times is doing the story, they call me and tell me that when I have been following up the issue for two years and no update.”
